About

I am a law student from Topeka, Kansas, who is on a study abroad in Utrecht, the Netherlands. I am studying international law with a career focus on human rights, civil liberties, and international criminal law and the law of war. My focus for the project in Utrecht, however, is private international law, specifically researching a comparative child maintenance scheme between the United States and the Netherlands.

My blog is a place where you can find updates on my life, general commentary on the world, and pictures to illustrate both. I hope you enjoy the site. Drop a comment if you’d like.

  1. Hey I’m going to Utrecht to study law next year on exchange. Needless to say I am so glad I found your blog!

  2. Hey! I’m studying in Utrecht next year, leave in about 3 months!

Your blog is extremely helpful, and makes things a little less daunting in a way so thanks. Can I ask you though, is there is a Football (Soccer) Team/Club at the University? This will be my release when law gets too much!!

    Thanks a lot,

    Matt

    • Hi, Matt.

The football club I play for is called Odysseus ‘91. It’s a student club mostly composed of university students, but some members who work, too. The website is http://www.odysseus91.nl and I’d recommend coming out for a look! Joining the club was one of the best decisions I made when I moved here. Good luck with everything!

      Best,
      Jessica
